David Morris x Japan: Building a Shopify store for the Japanese Luxury Jewellery Market

The Project

How we helped luxury jeweller, David Morris, expand into the Japan Jewellery market

The Strategy

Creating a prestigious online experience for a new customer base

David Morris, the renowned London jeweller, approached Imaginaire to help launch their first online presence in Japan as part of their expansion into the country. Our task was to replicate the luxury experience of their existing UK store, ensuring that the website not only reflected the brand’s prestigious reputation but also catered to the specific needs and expectations of their new market.

We developed the entire site in-house, focusing on delivering a seamless luxury ecommerce website with fast page navigation, easy content management, and a refined shopping experience. All translations were handled with a careful emphasis on maintaining David Morris’ sophisticated branding. The result is a sleek, responsive Shopify site that combines cutting-edge technology with elegance and luxury.

The Solution

Building a Shopify store with user-friendly features and dynamic content management

To deliver a robust and scalable e-commerce experience, Imaginaire implemented Shopify as the ecommerce engine for David Morris, offering a secure and flexible solution tailored to the brand’s needs. Shopify enables a seamless shopping journey through secure payment integrations, a customisable checkout flow, and a user-friendly administrative interface for efficient inventory and order management.

For content management, we integrated Sanity CMS, paired with the high-performance Next.js framework. This modern headless architecture allows for dynamic, real-time content updates, supporting product catalogues, promotional campaigns, and editorial content while ensuring exceptional performance and fast load times.

Additionally, the site was designed with a mobile-first approach, ensuring full responsiveness across all devices, from smartphones and tablets to desktop displays.

Testimonials

Client Testimonial

A handful of ambitious brands each year, treated like our own company is on the line. Their words, not ours.

David Morris

I have worked with Imaginaire for the last 3 years or so and they have been great every time. After moving from working with a larger agency based in London, to Imaginaire, you certainly feel much more looked after and taken care of. They have great professionalism but they are also so personable, making it super easy for me to pick up the phone and call them if I have an issue as opposed to logging ticket after ticket, which can get very frustrating. We also signed on with SEO with them and they have exceeded all expectations!
